Saving Word to List is Buggy

When I try to save a word to my list of words, the word count is not updating and the checkbox is not checked. After multiple tries, it will eventually check the box and add the word to the list. I've checked the network tab in the Chrome Dev tools (I'm using Brave browser) and it seems like it is sending a POST request to the delete endpoint when it should be sending it to the add endpoint from the start.

Is this project open source? I would like to contribute on this issue if it is. Thanks.

jaredg I installed the "Brave browser" to test if there was a specific issue with it, but I could not reproduce the behaviour that you are mentioning.

If it's sending a POST request to the delete endpoint, it means that for some reason the word appears as it's already added to the list. If I'm not missing something, this could only happen when a word is being added/removed from different tabs that are opened at the same time. Is that part of your workflow?

JapanDict is not open source. I prefer to keep the code of the site in a private repository for the moment. Thank you for the offer anyway. 😃

I have this same issue. Tried on Chrome and Edge.

I select the list from the drop down box and select the checkbox. It spins for a second and reappears blank. Confirmed the list is still empty as well.

I am new to the site and all lists are fresh.

nathanielbutts Could you confirm if you have several tabs opened while adding words to the list? This could cause the issue you mention

I am new to Japandict as well. I also couldn't save a kanji to the list (same as nathaniel).

Hi guys,

After more investigation, I found out the issue and I fixed it.

This one was a bit tricky because it was only failing when you were clicking exactly on the checkbox. When you clicked on the text, it was working properly, and it turned out I was always clicking on the text.
That's why I could not reproduce the error.

Could you check if it's working for you now?
