Here are some categories I thought of, I don’t know whether you’ll like them, but I think they would help with sorting things:

Surname
Hyōgai kanji
Kokuji
Ghost kanji
Kangxi radical
Kyōiku kanji
Kokkun (Kanji whose meaning in Japanese differs from its meaning in Chinese)

Most categories for the words and kanjis are also integrated from the JMDict project. As I explained in my previous post, we cannot directly change that.
However, in this case, if you can share a reliable source of information with a list of words of these categories, I could consider if it would be possible to create them.
